"Reciprocal arrangements with the State of Singapore. | 49A. (1) Where under the provisions of any law in force in the State of Singapore, a Kathi or Naib Kathi has issue a summons requiring a person to appear before any religious court in the State of Singapore and such person is believed to be in the State of Kedah, a Kathi Besar or Kathi in the State of Kedah, if satisfied that such summons was issued by a Kathi or Naib Kathi in the State of Singapore may endorse the summons with his name, and such summons may then be served on such person as if it were a summons issued by a Kathi Besar or by a Kathi in the State of Kedah made under the provision of this Enactment. (2) Where under the provisions of any law in force in the State of Singapore corresponding to the last preceding sub-section a summons issued by a Kathi Besar or a Kathi in the State of Kedah has been endorsed by a Kathi or Naib Kathi in the State of Singapore and served on the person accused, such summons shall for the purposes of this Enactment be deemed to have been validly served as if such service had been effected in the State of Kedah." |
