PART VII - MAINTENANCE OF DEPENDANTS
Section 140. Lawful minor children.
(1) A minor under the age of fifteen years may by application in the Court of a Kathi, to be made either personally or through a representative as provided in section 79 (2) of this Enactment, obtain an order against his lawful father or any other person liable in accordance with Muslim law to support him for the payment from time to time of any such sums in respect of his maintenance as he may be entitled to in accordance with Muslim law.
(2) It shall be a sufficient defence to any such application that the applicant has sufficient means to support himself.
