ENACTMENT NO 4 OF 1955 ADMINISTRATION OF MUSLIM LAW ENACTMENT, 1955 (1374H)
Section 135. Disobedience of wife.
Any woman who shall willfully disobey any order lawfully given by her husband in accordance with Muslim law shall be liable to be punished with a fine not exceeding ten dollars, or, in the case of a second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven days or with fine not exceeding fifty dollars or with both such imprisonment and fine:
Provided that it shall be a sufficient defence to any prosecution under this section that the husband has been guilty on more than one occasion during the preceding year of abusing or ill-treating the accused.
