ADMINISTRATION OF MUSLIM LAW (FIFTH AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1987

Section 2. Amendment.

The principal Enactment is hereby amended by inserting after section 166 the following new section 166A:

"Contravention of, or failure to comply with, a ruling of the Majlis published in the Gazette.

166A. Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with any ruling given by the Majlis, whether directly or through Fetua Committe, under section 37 and in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 38, being a ruling which is published by notification in the Gazette under sub-section (2) of section 38, shall be guilty of an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or both"
