ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC LAW (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1998



Section 2. New section 7A.


The Administration of Islamic Law Enactment 1992 [En. 2/92], hereinafter referred to as the "principal Enactment" is amended by inserting after section 7 the following new section 7A:

7A. "Power to establish campanies and validations of companies established.

(1) The Majlis may, with the approval of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan, establish companies under the Companies Act 1965 [ Act 125] to carry out any activity which has been planned or undertaken by the Majlis in execution of its duty or powers under section 7.

(2) Every company established or purported to be established by the Majlis under the Companies Act 1965 before the commencement of this section shall be deemed to have been lawfully established and shall continue to exist as if it had been established by the Majlis under subsection (1).

(3) Any financing or financial assistance given by the Majlis under subsection (2) of section 7 to a company referred to in subsection (2) shall be deemed to have been lawfully given.".
