ENACTMENT NO. 8 OF 1986 KELANTAN COUNCIL OF ISLAMIC RELIGION AND MALAY CUSTOM (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1986
Section 17. Amendment of section 74.
(1) Section 74 (1) of the principal Enactment is amended by substituting for the words "shall be punishable with imprisonment not exceeding six months or with fine not exceeding $1,000" the words " shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit and shall also be liable to whipping.".
(2) Section 74 (2) of the principal Enactment is amended by substituting for the words "shall be punishable with imprisonment not exceeding three months or a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars" the words "shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to a fine not exceeding four thousand ringgit or to both.".
