ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC LAW (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1998

Section 3. New section 58A.

The principal Enactment is amended by inserting after section 58 the following new section 58A:

58A. "Appointment of Assistant Religious Enforcement Officer.

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58, the Head of Jabatan Agama Islam Perak may, with the approval of the Majlis, appoint any fit and proper person as Assistant Religious Enforcement Officer to carry out out the enforcement of the Crimes (Syariah) Enactment 1992 [En. 3/92] and other written law prescribing offences under the jurisdiction of the Syariah Court.".
