ADMINISTRATION OF MUSLIM LAW (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1998

Section 2. Amendment of section 8.

Section 8 of the Administration of Muslim Law Enactment, 1963 is amended:

(a)

in sub-section (1)

(i) by inserting the word "and" at the end of paragraph

(a)

;

(ii) by substituting for the words "two members of the Majlis; and" in paragraph

(b)

the words "six other persons who profess the Muslim Religion Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah, including not more than three members of the Majlis";

(iii) by deleting paragraph

(c)

;

(b)

in sub-section (2)

(i) by substituting for the words "paragraphs

(b)

and

(c)

" the words "paragraph

(b)

(ii) by substituting for the words "sooner resigned or" the words "they sooner resign or the appointment are sooner";

(c)

in sub-section (4), by substituting for the world "two" the word "four".
