ENACTMENT A5 ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS (TERENGGANU) (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 2008
Section 2. Amendment of section 8.
The Administration of the Islamic Religious Affairs (Terengganu) Enactment [Tr. En. 2/2001], which is referred to as the "principal Enactment" in this Enactment, is amended by substituting for section 8 the following section:
"Membership of the Majlis
8. (1) The Majlis shall consist of the following members-
(a) a President;
(b) a Deputy President;
(c) the mufti; and
(d) not more than fourteen other members.
(2) All the members of the Majlis shall be appointed by the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan at his discretion.
(3) All the members of the Majlis shall hold office at the pleasure of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan and every appointment made under subsection (2) shall be deemed to have been made for a period of three years from the date thereof, unless the contrary appears in the letter of appointment.
(4) A member appointed under subsection (2) whose term of office has expired may be reappointed."
