ENACTMENT NO 6 OF 1993 ISLAMIC FAMILY LAW (STATE OF PENANG) (AMENDMENT) ENCTMENT 1993
Section 8. Amendment of section 23
Section 23 of the principal Enactment is amended-
(a) by substituting subsection (1) thereof with the following:
"(1) No man shall, during the subsistance of a marriage, contract another marriage except with the prior permission in writing of the Syariah Judge, and if he so marries without such permission, such marriage may only be registered under this Enactment by order of court and subject to section 123.".
(b) by deleting the word "statutory" in line 3 of subsection (3); and
