ENACTMENT NO. 11 OF 1980 ADMINISTRATION OF ISLAMIC LAW (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1980.
Section 4. Insertion of new section 155A.
There shall be inserted in the Principal Enactment immediately after section 155 a new section 155A as follows-
" 155A. Powers of compound.
(1) The Commissioner or any officer of the Department specially authorised in writing in that behalf by the Commissioner, may in his discretion compound any offences listed in the Fifth Schedule by collecting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the same a sum of money not exceeding the amount of fine prescribed for the offence.
(2) The Ruler in Council may make rules prescribing the procedure for the collection of compound money and the forms to be used in connection therewith and may from time to time by order published in the Gazzette add to, delete from or amend the Fifth Schedule.".
