ENACTMENT A3 ADMINISTRATION OF THE SYARIAH COURT (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 2006
Section 7. Amendment of section 12
Section 12 of the principal Enactment is amended by inserting after subsection (10) the following subsections:
“(11) Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah shall have supervisory and revisionary jurisdiction over the Syariah High Court and may if it appears desirable in the interest of justice, either of its own motion or at the instance of any party or person interested, at any stage in any matter or proceeding, whether civil or criminal, in the Syariah High Court, call and examine for the record thereof and may give such direction as justice may require.
(12) Upon the Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah calling for record of any matter or proceeding under subsection (11) all proceeding in the Syariah High Court of the matter or proceeding in question shall be stayed pending further order of the Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah.
