ENACTMENT NO. 4 OF 1992 ISLAMIC FAMILY LAW (AMENDMENT) ENACTMENT 1992
Section 9. Amendment to section 44.
Section 44 of the principal Enactment is amended by-
(a) deleting the word "statutory" in subsection (1); and
(b) adding after subsection (15), new subsections (16) and (!7) as follows:
"(16) A talaq rajii pronounced by a husband unless ruju' has taken place whether expressly or otherwise or by order of Court shall not end a marriage until the expiry of the period of 'iddah.
(17) IF the wife has conceived at the time the talaq is pronounced or when the order is made, the talaq or order shall not end the marriage until the period of pregnancy ends.".
