PART VI - MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE
Section 115. Appointment of persons to solemnise and register marriages and divorces.
(1) His Highness may appoint any fit and proper Muslim to be Registrar of Muslim Marriages and Divorces in any place.
(2) The Kathi Besar, and every Kathi shall be ex-officio Registrars of Muslim Marriages and Divorces for the whole of the areas in which they respectively have jurisdiction in criminal and civil matters.
(3) Registrars of Muslim Marriages and Divorces shall have such rights and powers and perform such duties as may be conferred or imposed upon them by this Enactment or any rules made thereunder.
(4) Registrars of Muslim Marriages and Divorces shall be deemed to be public servants for the purposes of the Penal Code.
