PART XXV - MISCELLANEOUS

Section 246. Rules Committee of the Syariah Courts

(1) There shall be established a Committee to be called the Syariah Court Rules Committee consisting of-----

(a)

the Chief Syariah Judge who shall be the Chairman;

(b)

the State Legal Adviser or his representative;

(c)

a representative of the Majlis;

(d)

the following persons appointed by the Chief Syariah Judge:

(i) a Syariah Appeal Court Judge;

(ii) a Syariah High Court Judge;

(iii) a Syariah Subordinate Court Judge;

(iv) a Peguam Syarie; and

(v) a legal officer serving with the Legal Aid Bureau established under the Legal Aid Act [

Act 26

(2) The Chief Registrar of the Syariah Court shall be the Secretary of the Committee.

(3) The Rules Committee of the Syariah Courts may determine its own procedure.
