Section 127. Unlawful issue of Fetua.

(1) If any person other than the Majlis or a person acting under powers conferred by this Enactment issues or purports to issue any official Fetua on any question of Law of the Muslim Religion shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to a fine not exceeding three hundred dollars, or to both.

(2) The provisions of sub-section (1) shall not apply to the mere expression by any person of opinion on any question relating to Muslim Law or Malay custom.
