ENACTMENT NO. 2 OF 1966 KELANTAN COUNCIL OF RELIGION AND MALAY CUSTOM ENACTMENT, 1966
PART II - MAJLIS CONSTITUTION JUMA'AH ULAMA
Section 12. Juma'ah Ulama.
(1) There shall be established for the purpose of advising the Majlis on any matter relating to a Fetua to be issued persuant to any provision contained in this Enactment, a Jumaah Ulama of the Majlis, consisting of the Mufti Kerajaan and not less than eight other fit and proper persons.
(2) The members of the Jumaah Ulama, other than the Mufti, shall be appointed by His Highness the Sultan for such period as he may deem fit and shall receive a Tauliah under His Sign Manual and Seal. His Highness may at any time revoke any such appointment. Notice of every such appointment and revocation shall be published in the Gazette.
(3) The Mufti shall be Chairman of the Jumaah Ulama, In his absence, His Highness the Sultan may appoint a Chairman.
(4) The Chairman, or in his absence, the person appointed to be Chairman and two-third of the members appointed under sub-section (1) of this section shall be a quoram.
(5) The Jumaah Ulama shall determine its own procedure.
(6) The provisions of the Schedule relating to disqualification of members of the Majlis shall have effect with respect to the Jumaah Ulama as if for the word "Majlis" there were substituted the words "Jumaah Ulama".
(7) The members of the Jumaah Ulama shall be deemed to be public servants for the purposes of the Penal Code.
