Section 86. Restriction on establishment of mosques and penalty.

(1) No person shall, without the permission in writing of the Majlis, erect any building to be used or use or cause to be used any building for purposes which may only be carried on in or by a mosque.

(2) Any person who contravenes the provisions of subsection (1) commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for term not exceeding one year or to both.
