PART IV - GENERAL PROCEDURE



Section 29. Service of process.

(1) Process of the Court shall be served by an officer of the Court or by any other person authorised by the Court and may be served at any time and at any place within the State.

(2) In criminal proceedings service shall be personal.

(3) In civil proceedings service shall be personal except for special reasons where the court ma order substituted service. Substituted service shall be effected in such manner as may be provided by the court and shall then be as effective as personal service.

(4) Personal service shall be effected by handling to the person to be served the original or a sealed and signed copy of the document to be served. If the person to be served refises to accept it the document may be brought to his notice and left near him.

(5) A person who has served any document or process shall forthwith file in court a memorandum showing the place, time and method of service.

(6) Service shall be proved where necessary by sworn evidence.
