PART II - ADMINISTRATION

Section 7. Appointment of Kadi, Pemeriksa Agama and Court Registrar.

(1) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong may appoint:

(a)

Kadi Besar, and so many Kadis;

(b)

Ketua Pemeriksa Agama so many Pemeriksa Agama, Penolong Pemeriksa Agama dan Pembantu Pemeriksa Agama;

(c)

Pendakwa Syarie and so many Timbalan Pendakwa Syarie; and

(d)

Registrar of Syariah Court of Appeal, Registrar of Mahkamah Kadi Besar, and Registrar for Mahkamah Kadi.

(2) All appointments under subsection (1) shall be notified in the Gazette.

(3) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong may from time to time grant, alter, restrict or revoke any letter of appointment made under subsection (1) of this section and may restrict the exercise of any of the powers which would otherwise be conferred by this Enactment or any other written law.

(4) Save as aforesaid, any jurisdiction, authority and powers of the Kadi Besar and Kadis shall be such as are conferred by this Enactment or by any other written law.
