Section 5. Offence of subjecting a minor who is a Muslim to influences of a non-Islamic religion.
(1) A person commits an offence if he requires, causes, persuades, influences, incites, encourages or allows a minor who is a Muslim-
(a) to receive instruction in any non-Islamic religion; or
(b) to take part in any ceremony, act of worship or religious activity of any non-Islamic religion; or
(c) to take part in any activity for the benefit of a non-Islamic religion which is sponsored or organised by any body or institution associated with a non-Islamic religion.
(2) A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) shall, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to a fine not exceeding ten thousand ringgit or to both.
(3) It shall not be a defence to a charge under subsection (1) that the accused did not know or was not informed by any person as to the religion of the minor.
