PART IV - OFFENCES RELATING TO THE SANCTITY OF RELIGION AND ITS INSTITUTION

Section 19. Instigating neglect of religious duty.

(1) A person who instigates or induces any Muslim not to attend mosque or religious teachings or any religious ceremony is guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.

(2) Any person who in any manner prevents another person from paying or instigates him not to pay zakat or fitrah is guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
