PART III - CONSTITUTION OF SYARIAH COURTS APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS AND THEIR JURISDICTION
Section 45. Jurisdiction of the Court Appeal.
The Court of Appeal shall have jurisdiction over the following-
(a) in a criminal matter, it may hear appeals on an order of acquittal, finding of guilt, or a sentence of imprisonment or fine of not less than fifty ringgit.
(b) in a civil matter, it may hear appeal by-
(i) any party, who is aggrieved by a judgment direction, order or decision in a suit in which the amount claimed is not less than one hundred ringgit;
(ii) any part who is aggrieved by a decision in respect of his personal status;
(iii) any party who is aggrieved by a decision relating to maintenance.
(c) No appeal shall lie in a civil case in which the judgment, direction, order or decision made by the Court of a Kadi or the Kadi Besar with the consent of all parties.
(d) In all other civil cases, appeals may be filed with leave of the Court of Appeal.
