PART IV - BOARD OF MANAGEMENT



Section 13. Qualifications of members of Board.

(1) If the Registrar is of the opinion that any person proposed to be a member of the Board is not a fit and proper person, he may reject the person from being a member of the Board.

(2) The Board shall, on such rejection by the Registrar under subsection (1), propose such other person to be a member of the Board in substitution of that person and in the event the Board makes no proposal, the Registrar may appoint another person as it may thinks fit and proper to be a member of the Board.

(3) If the Registrar is of the opinion that a member of the Board is not a fit and proper to be a member of the Board, he may direct the Board to dismiss such member and upon receipt of the direction, the Board shall take such necessary steps to dismiss that member and to substitute his place with another person.

(4) If the Board fails or refuses to comply with the direction of the Registrar under subsection (3), the Registrar shall have the power to dismiss the member and appoint such other person in his place.

(5) Any person who ceases or is dismissed from being a member of the Board shall immediately surrender all property, articles, documents and other things belonging to the religious school to the present members of the Board.

(6) If any person who has ceased or has been dismissed from being a member of the Board-
he commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both and in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding two hundred ringgit for each day or part of a day the offence continues after conviction.
