PART X - OFFENCES
Section 156. Adoption by non-Muslim.
Notwithstanding any other written law to the contrary, any Muslim who shall permit the adoption of any Muslim child under the age of fourteen year and seven months by a non-Muslim without the permission in writing of the Department shall be liable to be punished with fine not exceeding fifty dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or with both such imprisonment and fine and such child shall be returned to its parent or lawful Muslim guardian
