PART III - REGISTRATION OF RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS



Section 8. Revocation of registration.

(1) The Registrar may revoke the registration of a religious school if he is satisfied that-

(2) Before revoking a registration, the Registrar shall give the Board a notice in writing of his intention to do so and require the Board to rectify the contravention or comply with such conditions of registration or such direction issued by the Registrar within the period specified in the notice or within such extended period as may be granted by the Registrar.

(3) If after the expiry of the period mentioned in subsection (2) the Board failed to rectify the contravention or to comply with such condition or direction, the Registrar may revoke the registration of the religious school by a notice in writing addressed to and served on the chairman of the Board.

(4) The Registrar may act under subsection (1) if he has reason to believe that a registered religious school has ceased to exist.

(5) A notice of revocation of registration mentioned in subsection (3)-

(6) Any Board whose religious school had its registration revoked under this section may apply to register again the religious school pursuant to this Enactment.

(7) Within thirty days from the date of the revocation of its registration, the chairman of the Board or any person responsible for the management of the religious school shall surrender the certificate of registration of the religious school and its instrument of management to the Registrar.
