PART II - RELIGIOUS COURTS Jurisdiction
Section 6. Appointments.
(1) His Highness the SuItan after consultation with appropriate Service Commission, may appoint by instrument under His sign manual and seal any suitable persons to be a Kadhi Besar and a Timbalan Kadhi Besar for the State and may similarly appoint any suitable persons to be Kadhis for such areas as he may prescribe. All such appointments shall be notified in the Gazette.
(2) His Highness the SuItan, may from time to time grant, alter or revoke letters of appointment to any Kadhi Besar, Timbalan Kadhi Besar, or Kadhi and may by the terms of any such letter restrict the exercise of any powers which would otherwise be conferred on such Kadhi Besar, Timbalan Kadhi Besar or Kadhi by this Enactment or by any other written law.
(3) Save as aforesaid, the jurisdiction, authority and powers of any Kadhi Besar, Timbalan Kadhi Besar or Kadhi shall be such as are conferred by this Enactment or by any other written law.
