Jamaah Ulama'

Section 33. Establishment of Jamaah Ulama'.

(1) There shall be established for the purpose of advising the Majlis on any matter relating to a fatwa to be issued pursuant to any provision contained in this Enactment, a Jamaah Ulama' consisting of-

(a)

the Mufti as chairman;

(

the Timbalan Mufti; and

(c)

not less than eight but not more than fifteen other persons.

(2) The members of the Jamaah U1ama' other than the Mufti and the Timbalan Mufti shall be appointed by His Royal Highness the Sultan for such period as he may declare according to his discretion by a tauliah under His Sign Manual and seal and His Royal Highness the Sultan may at any time revoke such appointment.

(3) Every appointment and revocation under this section shall be published in the Gazette.
