Section 12. Appeal Committee.

(1) There shall be established an Appeal Committee consisting at any one sitting of not more than three members selected from among the following:

(a)

the Mufti; and

(b)

seven persons professing the Muslim Religion Ahli Sunnah Waljama'ah to be nominated by the Ruler, such nomination to be published in the

Gazette.

(2) Whenever there is an appeal against the decision of the Court, the President shall convene the Appeal Committee which shall consist of the Mufti, whenever he is available, and two other members.

(3) The Mufti shall whenever he is available to sit in the Appeal Committee, preside over the Appeal Committee and, if he is not so available, the President shall appoint one of the members of the Appeal Committee convened under this section to preside.
