ENACTMENT NO. 2 OF 1966 KELANTAN COUNCIL OF RELIGION AND MALAY CUSTOM ENACTMENT, 1966
Section 7. Power of the Majlis.
(1) the Majlis shall have -
(a) power to act as executor of a will, administrator of the estate of a deceased Muslim person or as a trustee;
(b) power to enter into contracts and may acquire, purchase, take, hold and enjoy movable and immovable property of every description, and subject to the provisions of any written law affecting the same may convey, assign, surrender and yield up, charge, mortgage, demise, reassign, transfer or otherwise dispose of, or deal with, any movable or immovable property vested in the Majlis upon such terms as to the Majlis seems fit and in accordance with Hukum Shara'; and
(c) such other powers as may be conferred upon the Majlis under this Enactment.
(2) The Majlis, on behalf of and under the authority of His Highness the Sultan as Head of the Religion of the State, shall aid and advise His Highness on all matters relating to the religion of the State and Malay custom, and shall in all such matters be the chief authority in the State, save in so far as may be otherwise provided by this Enactment.
(3) The Majlis may appear in any court (includig courts other than religious courts) by its President or Vice-President or Secretary or by any person appointed for that purpose either generally or in a particular case under the seal of the Majlis.
