PART IX - OFFENCES



Section 166. False doctrine.

(1) Whoever shall teach or publicly expound any doctrine or ,perform any ceremony or act relating to the Religion of Islam in any manner contrary to the Law of that Religion shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or with fine not exceeding five hundred dollars.

(2) If during the trial of any charge under this section any question shall arise as to whether any such doctrine, ceremony or act is contrary to the Law of the Religion of Islam, the Court shall refer such question in writing to the Majlis for its determination which when given shall be final and binding on such Court and in respect of any appeal in connection with such charge.
