PART I - PRELIMINARY

Section 2. Interpretation.

(1) In this Enactment, unless the context otherwise requires-

"action" includes "suit" and vice-versa;

"advocate" has the meaning assigned to it in the Enactment Mahkamah Syariah 1979;

"bailiff" includes any clerk, interpreter, process server or other officer of the Court charged with performing the duties of a bailiff;

"certified translation" means a translation certified as correct by the Court;

"Court" has the meaning assigned to it in the Enactment Mahkamah Syariah 1979.

"lien" means a right on the property of a judgment debtor to the extent of the indebtedness.

"minor" means a person who has not attained the age of eighteen years.

"notice" means written notice unless the Court in any case shall otherwise order.

"year" has the meaning assigned to it in the Enactment Mahkamah Syariah 1979.

(2) Words and expressions importing the masculine gender include female.

(3) Words and expressions in the singular include the plural and words and expressions in the plural include the singular.
