PART VI - CONVERTS



Section 103. Particulars of conversion and apostasy from Islam.

(1) A Muslim or any Islamic body which converts any person to the Religion of Islam shall immediately furnish the particulars relating to it a kadi. When the Kadi is satisfied that the person who embrances the Religion of Islam is qualified to do so, the Kadi shall inform the Yang di-Pertua of the matter and the Yang di-Pertua subject to section 101 shall then register the person as a Muslim and issue him with a certificate.

(2) Any person who has embraced the Religion of Islam in accordance with the Part apostatises from that Religion he shall report to a Court of his decision and the Yang di-Pertua shall register it. Before his decision is reported and registered, he shall be presumed to be still a Muslim.
