ENACTMENT NO. 10 OF 1996 CONTROL OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS ENACTMENT 1996
PART I - PRELIMINARY
Section 2. Interpretation.
In this Enactment unless the context otherwise requires---
"Administration Enactment" means the Administration of Islamic Law Enactment 1992 [En. 2/92];
"Board" means the Board of Management appointed under section 11;
"Headmaster" means the administrator of a primary school;
"Inspector" means the Inspector of school appointed under section 19;
"Lembaga Penasihat" means the Lembaga Penasihat Penyelarasan Pelajaran dan Pendidikan Agama Islam established by the Conference of Rulers;
"Majlis" means the Majlis Agama Islam dan 'Adat Melayu Perak established under section 4(1) of the Administration Enactment;
"Management Committee" means the existing School Management Committee or the committee formed for the purpose of establishing a school;
"Principal" means the administrator of a secondary school;
"Registrar" means the Registrar appointed under section 3 and includes the Deputy Registrar;
"Religious Administrative Officer" means any Religious officer appointed for the districts in the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan;
"school" means a place, where twenty or more persons are provided with, or receiving formal education, teaching or training either constantly or periodically, whether in one or more classes relating to Islam or for the purposes of Islam and such place includes madrasah or surau, pondok, kindergarten, child care centre, Islamic centre or teacher's training centre, or other places of howsoever description or known but does not include Islamic Religious school under the control of the Ministry of Education;
"Senior Assistant" means the senior assistant of a primary or secondary school;
"Yang Dipertua" means the Yang Dipertua Majlis Agama Islam dan 'Adat Melayu Perak appointed under section 10 of the Administration Enactment.
