Section 35. Interference with marriage.

Unless permitted by Hukum Syara', any person who uses any force or threat-

(a)

to compel a person to marry against his will; or

(b)

to prevent a person from contracting a valid marriage,

commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or with both.
