PART III - THE FATWA COMMITTEE
Section 19. Authority of Fatwa Committee to issue Fatwa
(1) Subject to section 21 the Fatwa Committee shall-
(a) on the command of His Royal Highness the Sultan, or
(b) on his own initiative, or
(c) on the request of any person made by letter or by any other means addressed to the Mufti and subject to subsection (2),
issue a fatwa on any matter that has not been or on any issues relating to Hukum Syarak.
(2) The Fatwa Committee shall consider every such request and shall unless in its opinion the question referred is frivolous or for other good reason ought not to be answered.
