ENACTMENT NO. 3 OF 2002 CONTROL OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS (MALACCA) ENACTMENT 2002
PART VI - INSPECTION OF RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS BY REGISTRAR, ETC.
Section 23. Powers of Registrar, etc. on inspection.
(1) In carrying out inspections pursuant to sections 22 and 19, the Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Inspector of Schools or any authorised person may-
(a) enter any premises and examine such books, documents, electronic media materials or other articles as he may consider necessary; and
(b) remove or detain such books, documents, electronic media materials or other articles which appear to him to be detrimental to the interests of the public or the pupils or which, in his opinion, may furnish evidence of the commission of an offence under this Enactment or any regulations made under this Enactment.
(2) The Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Inspector of Schools or any authorised person may, at any time while lawfully carrying out an inspection of a religious school under this Enactment, require any member of the Board, employee, teacher or pupil of the religious school to produce for his inspection any book, document, electronic media materials or other article relating to the management of, or the teaching carried out in, the religious school which is in the person’s possession or under his control or within his power to furnish.
