ENACTMENT No. 11 Of 1988 CONTROL AND RESTRICTION OF THE PROPOGATION OF NON-ISLAMIC RELIGIONS ENACTMENT 1988
Section 12. Power of arrest.
(1) Any authorised officer may arrest without warrant any person suspected of having committed any offence under this Enactment which, according to the criminal Procedure Code, is a seizable offence.
(2) When an authorised officer exercise his powers of arrest under sub-section (1), he shall declare his office or authority and produce for inspection to any person against whom he is acting an authority card to be prescribed by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah Darulaman.
(3) An authorised officer may call upon any police officer for assistance in the exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), and it shall be the duty of every police officer to comply with any such request.
(4) An authorised officer making an arrest under sub-section (1) shall without unnecessary delay make over the person so arrested to a police officer or take such person to the nearest police station; and the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code shall apply in relation to the person so arrested.
