Section 41. Illegal collection of zakat or fitrah.

Anyone who collects zakat or fitrah or causes to be collected zakat or fitrah without lawful authority, commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both. The Court shall order such collection be confiscated and delivered to Baitulmal.
