Section 107. Collection and payment of zakat without authority.

Whoever other than an amil or any other person authorised by the Majlis who collects or accepts zakat or fitrah which is assessed to be payable to the Majlis, or pays zakat or fitrah which is assessed to be payable to the Majlis to any person, other than an amil or any other person authorised by the Majlis, shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.
