ENACTMENT NO. 3 OF 2002 CONTROL OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS (MALACCA) ENACTMENT 2002
PART VI - INSPECTION OF RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS BY REGISTRAR, ETC.
Section 25. Power to close unregistered religious school.
(1) If the Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Inspector of Schools, an authorised officer or a police officer not below the rank of Inspector has reasonable cause to believe that any house, building or other place is being used as a religious school without being registered under this Enactment or is being used in contravention of this Enactment or any of the conditions imposed by the Registrar under this Enactment, the Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Inspector of Schools, authorised officer or police officer, accompanied by such persons as he may deem necessary may, without prejudice to the exercise of the power conferred on him under sections 22, 23 and 24, forthwith take such steps as he may deem necessary or by any means close the religious school.
(2) Any action taken under subsection (1) in respect of any house, building or other place shall not prohibit the Registrar from prosecuting any person using such house, building or place as a religious school without being registered under this Enactment.
