Section 66. Maskahwin.

(1) The Maskahwin may be paid in cash or on credit by the husband or his representative to the wife or her representative in the presence of the person who solemnised the marriage with at lease two withnesses.

(2) The Registrar shall in respect of marriage registered by him ascertain and record-

(a) the amount of maskahwin paid in cash;

(b) the amount of gift already given;

(c) the amount of Maskahwin or gift or both which have been promised but not paid at the time of the solemnisation of the marriage.
