Section 141. Disobedience of wife.

Any woman wilfully disobeys any order given by her husband after having been advised by Kadi in accordance with Hukum Syara'

shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven days and in the case of a second or any subsequent offence to a fine not exceeding one hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fifteen days:

Provided that it shall be sufficient defence to any prosecution under this section if the wife proves that her husband had, on more than one occasion during the preceding year, been abusing or ill-treating her.
