NON-ISLAMIC RELIGIONS (CONTROL OF PROPAGATION AMONGST MUSLIMS)
ENACTMENT 1988



Section 7. Offence of sending or delivering publications concerning any non-Islamic religion to a Muslim.

(1) A person commits an offence if he-
any publication or advertising material concerning a non-Islamic religion which has not been requested for by the receiver.

(2) A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) shall, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to a fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit or to both.

(3) For the purpose of subsection (1), a publication sent to or delivered at the address of a person shall be deemed to be sent or delivered to that person.

(4) It shall not be a defence to a charge under subsection (1) that the person to whom the publication in question was sent or delivered had made a request for it if the request had been prompted by the accused or by any person acting for the accused.

(5) Subsection (1) does not apply to any officer or employee of the Postal Department who sends or delivers any publication in the course of his official duty.
