Section 29. Summon and warrant of arrest.

(1) Where an information under section 28 has been made, the Kathi may if he has reasons to believe that an offence has been committed by any person issue a summons against that person in the form prescribed as Form A in the Second Schedule to this Enactment.

(2) If the person aforesaid fails to obey a summons duly served on him or if the offence is one punishable by imprisonment and there is good ground to believe that a summons will be ineffective (either by reason that that person cannot be found or that he is likely to disobey such summons), the Court may issue a warrant for the arrest of the said person addressed to the Chief Police Officer and all other police officers in the State in the form prescribed as Form B of the Second Schedule to this Enactment.

(3) Before issuing a summons or a warrant of arrest under this section, the Kathi shall in the case of any offence described in section 27, require that a certified copy of the sanction to institute prosecution be produced.
