Section 137. Food in the month of Ramadhan.

(1) Any Muslim during the hours of daylight in the month of Ramadan buys anything to be immediately eaten, drunk or smoked shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven days, and in the case of a second or any subsequent offence to a fine not exceeding one hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fifteen days.

(2) Any muslim who may not under Hukum Syara'

break his fast and who eats or drinks whatever food or drinks or smokes anything during the hours of daylight in the month of Ramadan shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven days and in the case of a second or any subsequent offence to a fine not exceeding one hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fifteen days or to both.
