Section 87. Appointment of pegawai masjid.

(1) The Majlis shall with the approval of His Royal Highness the Sultan, appoint any person who is considered to be qualified to be the pegawai masjid for any mosque.

(2) In the absence of the Imam Tua, whether on account of death, leave, illness or the like, the Imam Muda or any other person may be appointed to act as the Imam Tua.

(3) Every person appointed under this section shall receive a tauliah from His Royal Highness the Sultan.
