Section 114. Issuing fatwa.

Any person who gives a fatwa either orally or in writing regarding the teaching of Islam or the Religion of Islam other than a fatwa issued by the Majlis or the Mufti shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both and the Court shall make an order that the written fatwa be seized and destroyed or be dealt with as ordered by the court.
