PART II - MAJLIS
Section 4. Establishment of Majlis.
(1) There is hereby established a body which shall be a body corporate by the name of "Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Isti'adat Melayu, Perlis" (hereinafter referred to as "the Majlis") and shall have perpetual succession and may sue and be sued in its corporate name and may enter into contracts.
(2) The Majlis shall have a common seal and may from time to time make, change, alter and make anew the said seal as the Majlis deems fit, and until a seal is provided under this section a stamp bearing the inscription "Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Isti'adat Melayu, Perlis" may be used as a corporate seal.
(3) The provisions of the First Schedule to this Enactment shall have effect with respect to the Majlis.
(4) The Majlis shall consist of such persons as the Ruler may by notification in the Gazette appoint.
(5) Subject to the provisions of this Enactment, a member appointed under sub-section (4) shall, unless his appointment is sooner resigned or revoked, hold office for such period (not exceeding three years) as may be specified in the notification appointing him to be a member.
(6) The Ruler shall from the persons appointed to be members of the Majlis appoint one person to be the President, and one other person to be the Secretary, of the Majlis.
