PART II - MAJLIS AGAMA ISLAM DAN ADAT ISTIADAT MELAYU KELANTAN

Section 9. Membership of the Majlis.

(1) The Majlis shall consist of the following members that is -

(a)

a President;

(b)

a Vice-President;

(c)

the Mufti; and

(d)

not less than eight but not more than twenty other members.

(2) All the members of the Majlis shall be appointed by His Royal Highness the Sultan at his discretion and by a tauliah under His sign manual and seal.

(3) All members of the Majlis shall hold office at the pleasure of His Royal Highness the Sultan and every appointment made under subsection (2) shall be deemed to have been made for a period of three years from the date thereof, unless the contrary appears in the tauliah of appointment.

(4) An Employee of the Majlis except the President and Vice-President of the Majlis shall not be appointed a member of the Majlis.

(5) The Vice-President shall be the principal head of the administration of the Majlis.
